Humboldt Explorer Liveaboard

Guests fly to the Galapagos Islands from Mainland Ecuador, arriving in the late morning. The dive guides will meet the guests at the airport and escort them to the Humboldt Explorer. Guests will board the vessel after 1pm, have lunch, organise equipment and listen to the safety briefings.

Equipment check, followed by two morning dives around north Baltra. In the afternoon, walk the path around North Seymour to see the large colonies of blue-footed boobies and frigate birds. Sighting of sea lions and marine iguanas are also common. In the evening, the vessel will begin the 16+ hour transit to the northern islands.

Take part in 2 morning dives and 2 afternoon dives around Wolf Island, with the possibility of a night dive as well. Sightings often include hammerheads, whale sharks, eagle rays, sea lions, Galapagos sharks and silky sharks.

Start the day with 2 morning dives at Wolf, before transferring over to Darwin Island for two further dives in the afternoon.

Enjoy 4 dives around Darwin Island, with the possibility of seeing hammerheads, whale sharks, eagle rays, Galapagos sharks and silky sharks. In the evening, the vessel will transit back to Wolf Island.

After 3 more dives around Wolf Island, the boat will begin the long overnight transit back to the main archipelago.

Depending on travel time from Wolf Island, you will be able to take part in 1 or 2 dives around Cousin’s Rock - a great site for macro with an excellent chance of seeing sea horses, sea lions and eagle rays. Lunch will be served during the 3-hour transit to Santa Cruz where you will join a bus tour to the highlands to see giant tortoises in their natural habitat. You can also visit the Darwin Centre and enjoy dinner on your own in Puerto Ayora before returning to the Humboldt Explorer at 8:30pm.

Depart the vessel by 9am and transfer to the airport.
