ABOUT THE TRIP

It’s time to take you into the ocean with some of the largest sharks on the planet. This expedition includes a 5 night stay in Bimini, a small chain of islands in the Bahamas just 50 miles off the coast of Florida. Despite being one of the closest Bahamian islands to the U.S., Bimini is home to some of the most spectacular shark diving in the world.

Every winter, from November through April, great hammerheads move into the shallow waters just off Bimini. With crystal clear water averaging around 20 feet of visibility and no cages involved, you’ll have the opportunity to come face to face with one of the ocean’s most iconic apex predators in one of the few places on Earth where encounters like this are possible.

Featuring Queen, the largest great hammerhead ever recorded in The Bahamas, alongside unforgettable tiger shark encounters, a community of like minded ocean lovers, and a true once in a lifetime experience.

Join the Apex Ocean Travel family and embark on an unforgettable adventure to experience one of the greatest shark dives on the planet.

February is one of Bimini’s cooler months. Expect air temperatures in the mid-70s°F (around 24°C) during the day, dropping into the mid-to-upper 60s°F at night, with about 8 hours of sunshine a day and only light rainfall. Water temperature runs around 75°F (24°C) — comfortably diveable, but on the cool side, which is why a full 5mm wetsuit, hood, and gloves are required gear for every dive day. Conditions can shift day to day, so pack layers for topside as well.
