ABOUT THE LIVEABOARD

DIVE DAMAI’s newest vessel, MY DAMAI II was constructed in Tanjung Bira, South Sulawesi by Pak Hadji Baso in 2011. Pak Hadji Baso is one of the most respected master boat builders in the traditional Indonesian boat building community of Bira and was also the builder of DIVE DAMAI’s first vessel, MY DAMAI I.

MY DAMAI II has a deck length of 40 meters (131 ft) and a beam of 9 meters (29.5 ft) at its widest point. It has been built to an uncompromising standard and fitted with all the latest diving, navigation, and safety equipment to ensure the same level of service appreciated on our first vessel. And, where possible this service has been improved upon through additions such as satellite Wi-Fi capabilities.

The new vessel is slightly larger than the first ensuring three spacious outside deck areas with an outdoor dining facility, our famous massage and spa treatment area and plenty of extra lounging and sunbathing space. The crew to guest ratio remains the same as our first vessel (18 crew to 12 guests). Our hope is that all the new facilities will ensure an even more enjoyable cruise for both our returning and new guests.

The below deck accommodation has been designed to accommodate single or twin occupants in a level of luxury not seen on another vessel in Indonesia. Each cabin boasts a private shower and head with a queen-size bed and a separate day bed. The cabins measure approximately 20 sq. meters (225 sq.ft) each and have been finished with the highest quality furnishings. The stern staterooms are over 40 sq. meters (430 sq ft) each and boast their own private deck with loungers, a super-king size bed, day beds, two desks and en-suite shower and separate head.

The dive facilities have been made even more accommodating onboard DAMAI II. Dive station are larger and paired with wider individuals rinse tanks.. As well, the camera room is more spacious and big-rig friendly. In congruence with MY DAMAI I, all trips onboard MY DAMAI II will have 3 dive guides and 1 instructor. With only 12 guests on most trips and 14 on some (full boat charter only), we can easily ensure the same 4 divers to 1 guide ratio that we provide on the MY DAMAI I. All of this, in addition to our standard pair of custom, high-speed tender boats create the exquisite service and diving experience that is DIVE DAMAI.
