Itinerary
Know More about the days
Day 1
- Safety briefing, crew introduction, necessary dive paperwork, cabin allocation and ship orientation will take place before departing the harbor.
- Journey to the first dive site for a check dive. Please take this opportunity to familiarize yourself with the vessel and make yourself comfortable.
Day 2-7
- Most of the wrecks are intact offering a glimpse into the history of what actually went down on that fateful day.
- The wrecks are relatively intact and many artifacts lie in place as they did the day the vessels went down
- Tanks, trucks, machine gun nests, telegraphs, artillery canons, and torpedo launchers scatter the decks, all decorated with a layer of colorful marine life.
- The massive cargo still contain the tanks, airplane engines, tractors and trucks they carried when they went down, now covered with encrusting sponges that glow bright yellow-orange at the pass of a torch or the flash of a photographer's strobe.
- Mixed in with the Japanese saki bottles, china plates, lanterns, and piles of ammunition is a kaleidoscope of colorful soft coral, sponges, and leather coral garnished with whip and fan coral.
- Since most of the dive sites in Truk Lagoon are fairly close to each other, it is easy to move around. The best part about diving aboard Odyssey is that it is not unusual for you and your buddy to be the only divers on a 500' wreck. For photographers, this offers more opportunities to shoot those popular scenes without having to wait for others to move out of the way.
