Location Paradise Taveuni sits on Taveuni’s southern coast near Vuna Village, offering direct ocean vistas. Reach the resort via Taveuni Airport (TVU), about 60 minutes away by 4WD vehicle over a partly unsealed road, or opt for a scenic 30-minute speedboat ride from the wharf for $300 USD return per 1-2 guests. International travelers fly into Nadi (NAN), then connect via domestic flights from Fiji Airways or others, lasting around 60 minutes over reefs and islands.

Beqa Lagoon Resort spreads across approximately 10 acres of tropical gardens and rain forest, fronted by a long sandy beach and lagoon views toward Viti Levu. Pathways wind past koi ponds, coconut palms, and flowering shrubs linking the bures to the central restaurant, bar, pool, and dive center.

The main Bure Kalou restaurant is an open‑air dining house overlooking the lagoon, complemented by the Bula Bar and a beachfront bonfire area where guests gather in the evenings. A large beachfront infinity pool with sun loungers and shaded seating anchors the social area, while the Lali Spa, boutique, and seminar/yoga room add comfort and services for groups, retreats, and workshops.

Additional Information

The resort offers cultural evenings featuring meke dancing, live Fijian music, and traditional kava ceremonies, often hosted by villagers from Beqa Island. Guests can arrange visits to local villages and schools, enjoy guided nature walks, and learn about the use of local plants in island life.

A small on‑site boutique sells resort apparel, crafts, jewelry, basic toiletries, and snacks. A multipurpose seminar room (~500 sq ft) can be used for group briefings, photo workshops, yoga sessions, or small conferences, making the property suitable for hosted group trips and special interest expeditions.

Diving

The on‑site dive center runs daily two‑tank morning boat dives to a wide range of sites around Beqa Lagoon and the Great Beqa Reef, plus scheduled shark‑feed dives on select days. Many packages include 10–12 dives per week, with optional afternoon and night dives available depending on guest interest and conditions.

Courses range from entry‑level certifications through advanced and specialty programs, including nitrox and photo‑friendly options, all delivered under PADI 5‑Star standards. Non‑diver companions can join snorkeling trips or relax at the resort while divers are out on the boats.

Dive Shop Location

Beqa Lagoon is known for its signature shark‑feeding dives, where advanced divers may see bull sharks, tiger sharks, lemon sharks, and other species at sites such as “The Cathedral.” Beyond the adrenaline dives, there are more than 20–30 accessible reef sites featuring steep walls, pinnacles, coral gardens, and swim‑throughs. Reefs are covered in soft corals, gorgonians, and sponges, with frequent sightings of reef sharks, turtles, eagle rays, and schooling barracuda, jacks, and fusiliers. Many sites start in the 5–15 m range and drop to 30 m or more, making them suitable for a range of experience levels.

Diving Facilities

The PADI 5‑Star center at Beqa Lagoon Resort provides gear storage areas, rinse tanks, camera rinse options, and shaded gear‑up spaces close to the jetty. Divers have access to rental BCDs, regulators, wetsuits, dive computers, masks, fins, and lights, along with nitrox for those certified. Multiple custom dive boats operate from the resort’s dock, offering covered seating, tank racks, and easy water entry/exit, with most sites reached within 10–30 minutes. Briefings are typically detailed and site‑specific, with experienced local guides familiar with currents and marine life patterns.

Beqa Lagoon Resort commonly uses a full‑board or all‑inclusive style meal plan where breakfast, lunch, and dinner are pre‑priced within your package. Meals feature a rotating menu of local seafood, imported meats (such as New Zealand lamb and Australian beef), and fresh produce from nearby villages.

Snacks, premium desserts, and beverages outside the standard inclusions—especially alcoholic drinks, specialty coffees, and imported wines and spirits—are usually billed separately. Exact meal plan pricing in USD depends on travel dates, promotions, and occupancy, and will be confirmed when your trip is quoted through Apex Ocean Travel.

The separate lounge room has a refrigerator, tea, and coffee-making facilities, as well as comfortable lounge furniture and can be used for a sleep area. The indoor bathroom is tropically designed with a shower, toilet, bath products, and hair dryer. There is an outdoor shower in a private, lush garden. The Deluxe rooms have a sundeck with partial ocean views, a day bed, and table and chairs. All rooms are air-conditioned. (Frangipani is located by the restaurant).
